Welcome to IMAGES, an exhibit of edited photographic images. The images began as photographs from my digital camera. Each Gallery has lightly edited photographs from multi-media presentations I have done or images of special places or events. The images in the LTCL Exhibition Images gallery will be displayed as prints at the Lake Travis Community Library for the month of July 2024. I invite you to check this site from time to time because the content will change. I hope you enjoy IMAGES.

Poppies in Chelsea Physic Garden
Chelsea is a borough in Greater London. The garden was established by the Society of Apothecaries in 1673 to study plants for medicinal use. Many of the original sections of this enchanting garden are still here.
An Ancient Stave Church in the Norwegian Woods
The name stave church comes from the frame of tall, strong vertical pieces of timber ("staves") used in the construction of these distinctive ancient Norwegian houses of worship. This church is located in the Mahaugen Folk Park near Lillehammer, Norway.
Marina Piccola on the Bay of Naples
The best sea view in Sorrento, Italy is from the sprawling terrace of the Foreigner's Club Restaurant above Marina Piccola. Order an Aperol spritz or walk down to the marina and get a boat ride to the Isle of Capri.
Big Ben
Big Ben is a large bell inside the Elizabeth Tower at the north end of the Palace of Westminster, often called the Houses of Parliament. Westminster Bridge spans the River Thames here.
Front Door to Georgia O'Keeffe's Home in Abiquiu
Abiquiu is located in northern New Mexico about 50 miles from Santa Fe. Ansel Adams was a friend of Georgia O'Keeffe and took some incredible photographs of the artist at this entrance to her hacienda.
The Harbor in Manarola
Manarola is one of the five villages of the Cinque Terre on the Ligurian coast of Italy. Manarola is on one end of a pathway called the Via dell'Amore that winds through vineyards and along cliffs.
Sunbaked and Whitewashed Alberobello
Alberobello is a village in the Puglia region of southern Italy noted for unique stone houses called "trulli". The houses are circular buildings with conical roofs made with the local limestone stacked without using mortar.
The Millennium Bridge and St. Paul's Cathedral
View across the River Thames from a terrace of the Tate Modern in London. The Millennium Bridge connects Southwark to the City of London near iconic St. Paul's Cathedral.
Lavender Field in Provence
Cistercian monks at Abbaye Notre Dame de Senanque in the department of Vancluse in Provence, France grow lavender and keep bees to support themselves. The abbaye is near the town of Gordes and was founded in 1147.
Ponte du Hoc Ranger Monument
The shard of granite on this dramatic cliff top on the coast of Normandy, France is a memorial to the American First Infantry Rangers who scaled this 100 foot cliff under heavy fire to take control of Pointe du Hoc in the World War II D-Day landing.
The Household Cavalry on Parade
The Horse Guards act as the monarch's guardians and the public face of the British Army. In this view the Horse Guards are seen in full parade dress at the Trooping of the Colour on the Mall near Buckingham Palace.
Piazza Marconi in Vernazza
Vernazza is one of the five villages of the Cinque Terre of the Italian Riviera and the piazza is the center of the action. The view is from vineyards above the village in the bright sun that attracted the sun bathers.
The Village in White
The striking white washed village of Vieste is on the rugged Gargano Peninsula on the Adriatic side of southern Italy. The view is from a boat in the Adriatic Sea. This part of Italy is often called the "land of the mid-day sun".
Spring in Vernazza
The tiny village of Vernazza is one of the five villages of the region known as the Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera. View from the trail on the cliffs above on a beautiful spring day.
The Tide is Out at St. Michael's Mount
If the tide is out a pedestrian causeway connects the dramatic rock island where this ancient castle is perched to the small town of Marazion in the Cornwall region of England. Cornwall is England's most southwestern area.
A Water Wheel in Bayeux
Bayeux is a small town founded by Celts in the department of Calvados in the Normandy region of northwestern France. The old mill is located on the rue de Nesmond near the Bayeux Tapestry Museum.
Prague Sunset
View from the Charles Bridge over the Vltava River with St. Vitus Cathedral and Prague Castle on the horizon. Prague was once the capital of the kingdom of Bohemia and the home of Holy Roman Emperors.
Traghetti at the Rialto Fish Market
Repurposed older gondolas known as "traghetti" shuttle locals in Venice across the Grand Canal to and from the busy fish market near the Rialto Bridge. Passengers on a traghetto stand during the trip.
Bridge of Sighs
The bridge connects the Doge's Palace in Venice to the prison. Condemned prisoners were led across the bridge from the Doge's palace to their eventual deaths in most cases.
A Gondola on the Grand Canal
A long, sleek gondola powered by only one person glides down the Grand Canal in Venice. The young passengers pass sun screen around as the bright sun shines down.
The Market on Campo de' Fiori
This Roman piazza was a field of flowers in an open meadow long ago. Today it hosts a fruit and vegetable market in the morning. The statue of Giordano Bruno, a heretic burned on this spot, watches over the piazza.
Nyhavn
Nyhavn or "New Harbor" was built in 1670, but is now a gentrified old dock area in Copenhagen. Today antique sale boats fill the canal. Hans Christian Anderson once lived in one of the colorful buildings on the canal.
Houses on the River Aure
Bayeux is a small town in Normandy northwestern France. The River Aure flows through the center of Bayeux. The view is from a bridge over the River Aure in the old medieval section.
The Miraculous Staircase
According to legend the magnificent spiral staircase in the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico was constructed by St. Joseph himself, the Patron Saint of Carpenters. The chapel was built in 1878 and modeled after the renowned Sainte Chapelle in Paris.
Midnight at Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge spans the River Thames at the Tower of London. The Victorian structure was finished in 1894 and has a hydraulically powered drawbridge that lifts to allow ships to pass.
Cinque Terre Twilight
Manarola is one of the five villages on the Cinque Terre in Italy. As darkness settles over the small village the colors of the houses become darker and richer than the colors seen in the bright sun.
Ristras for Sale
Ristra is Spanish for "string", but in northern New Mexico a ristra is a strung group of usually red Chile pods that are hung on houses and buildings as a symbol of welcome and a decoration.
The Grand Canal from Inside Ca'd'Oro
The "House of Gold" is one of the magnificent palaces that line the Grand Canal in Venice. Ca' d'Oro was commissioned in 1420 and is known for the exquisite arcading on the front.
